HASBRO DOLLS - WORLD OF LOVE

The 1970s bright the for Mod Era or fashion and dolls to wear the clothes.  One of those such dolls was the Hasbro World of Love Dolls produced from 1971 through 1972.  The original collection had four dolls: Love, Peace, Soul and Flower.  Two other dolls, Music and Adam, were added in 1972.  Along with the dolls came a great wardrobe, that is actual exceptional in the quality of fabrics used.

these dolls are about 9 inches tall and made of vinyl.  They have bendable legs and a twisty waist.  The hair and eyelashes are rooted.  I have found two variations of the Love doll.  The first edition doll had almost platinum blond hair while the later version had more of a darker blond hair color.

World of Love dolls were promoted by Hasbro as "She is what's happening.  She is today's American teenager, and she is part of the World of Love!.  I think this is an obvious play on the hippie movement of the time.  A deluxe version of the dolls was introduced in 1972 where the dolls were dressed in a t-shirt with her face on the front and the box also contained an extra outfit for her to wear.

In 1971 Breck Shampoo also promoted a doll called Beautiful Hair Bonnie Breck.  This doll utilizes the World of Love doll bodies and is very similar in looks to the Love doll with the darker blond hair.  This doll also has a dress of the same fabric as that used for the Flower doll,  but the pioneer style of the dress is different.  Both Bonnie Brekc and Love dolls have blue eyes, but the difference is that the Bonnie Breck doll has side glancing eyes where the Love doll has eyes that are looking more forward.

The World of Love dolls were also sold in Europe under the name of Miss Matchbox Disco Girls and had different names.  Love became Britt, Peace became Tia, Flower became  Dee and Soul was known as Domino.  Adam was renamed Tony.
