AMERICAN CHARACTER DOLLS FEATURING BETSY McCALL & TONI
The pamphlet came with American Character Sweet Sue dolls and is called how to have more fun with Sweet Sue, Tiny Tears and Toodles. The pamphlet features additional outfits that were available from November 15th, 1955 until June 1st, 1956. I love this in that the postage and handling at the time was on 25 cents! Pamphlet has a blue cover, but the picture were originally black and white.

The two catalogs below were reproduced in 1989 by Loraine Burdick, Quest-Eridon Books. Although in black and white, the catalogs offer very clear descriptions of the dolls and their outfits. Another great resource to help you identify your American Character dolls and their clothing!!

Below are two original Betsy McCall and Toni Fashion Booklets. Just click on the booklet to open it. I think they are especially cool because they are miniature comic books that feature the dolls and the fashions that were released that year. The drawings and artisty are pretty amazing. Enjoy.

1959 Toni and Betsy McCall Fashion Booklet
Below are photocopies of some of the catalog pages from 1958 - 1961 that feature photographs and descriptions of American Character Toni and Betsy McCall dolls. You will also find such dolls as Barbie, Littlest Angel, Coty Girl, Shirley Temple, Miss Revlon, and Little Miss Revlon dolls. You can click the picture for a larger version, but remember - they are photocopies so the larger you go the more grainy the picture you will see. Enjoy.
